WELCOME TO THE CLUB
Bill Robinson, the founder of our club, managed the Appalachian Outfitters store in Ellicott City in the 1970s and was active in the Sierra Club, organizing canoe classes for its members in 1973 and 1974. By 1974, we established an organized trip schedule on rivers like the Patapsco, Gunpowder, Deer Creek, and Muddy Creek, and by September of that year, we began meeting at the main Red Cross Building downtown. On March 16, 1976, we were formally incorporated as The Greater Baltimore Canoe Club, Inc.
